About DogPicks
We built the dog health tool we wished existed when we got our first dog.
What We Do
DogPicks provides free personalized dog health reports based on your dog's specific breed, age, weight, diet, and activity level. Most pet health resources give generic advice that ignores the enormous variation between breeds. A Border Collie's nutritional needs, health risks, and exercise requirements are fundamentally different from those of a French Bulldog β and both differ from a Labrador Retriever.
Our reports cross-reference your dog's profile against veterinary research to surface the health risks, nutrition guidance, and care priorities most relevant to their specific genetics and life stage. The core report is free. The premium report ($9.99) goes significantly deeper with six additional sections.

What DogPicks Is Not
DogPicks is an informational tool, not a veterinary service. Our reports are designed to help you be a more informed owner and have better conversations with your vet β not to replace professional veterinary care. The breed health data identifies elevated risk factors, not certainties. If your dog shows signs of illness, see a vet.
We also curate dog products β food, toys, beds, health supplies β and earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon affiliate links. This does not influence which products we recommend. Our picks are ranked by verified reviews and real buying trends, not affiliate commission rates.
Our Research Approach
Breed health profiles are built on peer-reviewed veterinary research, breed club health surveys, and epidemiological data. We focus on conditions where there is meaningful evidence of elevated breed-specific risk β not speculative associations.
Nutrition recommendations reference established guidelines including NRC (National Research Council) nutritional requirements for dogs and AAFCO feeding standards. Portion estimates are calculated based on your dog's weight, age, activity level, and breed metabolism β not generic tables.
